Dr. Autum Busarow-Kosco, DVM, cVMA: Dr. Autum Busarow-Kosco is a native of Tucson and completed her undergraduate degree in Veterinary Science at the University of Arizona. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts for her pre-clinical training and then completed her clinical training at the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, she completed an internship at Southwest Equine Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ, and has continued to serve there as an associate veterinarian specializing in equine medicine.
Dr. Kosco enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine including internal medicine, animal welfare, anesthesia / pain management, nutrition, and preventive care. She has extensive training in acupuncture for large and small animals from the Chi Institute in Florida and enjoys customizing conventional and integrative wellness programs for each of her patients to promote healthy and balanced animals.
Dr. Kosco has spent most of her life around horses and couldn’t imagine any other profession than to be working with them as a veterinarian. She also has a passion for traveling and has been on multiple overseas trips to provide teaching and veterinary care to animals around the world. She is always looking for the next adventure to pursue.
Dr. Ashley Edge, DVM: Dr. Edge grew up in an Air Force family and so was blessed to move all over the USA. She loved horses from an early age and joined 4-H and rode and showed through them, as well as with the AQHA. She ended up owning a quarter horse mare that was an integral part of Dr. Edge’s life and taught her that she wanted to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Edge continued her life of travel after she left home. She did her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University and completed her veterinary degree at St. George’s University on the island of Grenada in the West Indies. Dr. Edge did an internship after graduation at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky and then took her first associate job in Denver, Colorado. During this time, she became certified in Animal Chiropractic care at Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic. While practicing in Denver, she met her husband, Dan, and his career moved them to Virginia, and finally back West to Tucson.
Professionally, Dr. Edge particularly enjoys ophthalmology, equine lameness, chiropractic care, and imaging. Dr. Edge also has a special interest in client and community education for the care of all animals.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Edge enjoys hiking, camping, and horseback riding. She also loves spending time with her family, including her two cats Julep and Yeti (Yeti has extra toes and therefore big feet, hence the name!).
Chauncey Smith, DVM: Dr. Chauncey of The Equine Veterinary Clinic of Tucson is a general practitioner that practices mainly sports medicine and emergency work. Dr. Chauncey is a native of Tucson who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona. During his youth he was an avid equestrian in the area that received national accolades in the hunter jumper circuit. Dr. Chauncey completed his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at The Ohio State University where he worked multiple years in the equine ICU. After graduation he began working as a general practitioner at Cleveland Equine Clinic in Northeast Ohio where he received guidance from some of the leaders in the sport horse industry. Dr. Chauncey is very excited to continue his career as an equine veterinarian in Tucson servicing the animals that have given him so much.
